Well, this has been a long time coming. We've been hard at work on this for a while now, and finally it's ready to reveal. Shrunken Wool Volume 1 is now available!

Diamond Comic Distributors announced they will not ship any new comics for the last week of December. This company is the primary distributor of comic books in North America. What some would call a sad week without our favorite mainstream titles, we are calling an opportunity. This vacancy allows independent and small press comic book creators to claim this week as their own.

Well Twofolds is doing its part to help keep comic shop shelves full on December 30th. Through the newly launched distributor Comics Monkey your local comic shop can now order copies of some of your favorite Twofold Comics titles including Manifest Destiny, The Coyote, and the soon to be released Life (With Friends).

Retailers can click on the monkey above or the "For Retailers" link on the left side of the page to order our titles for their stores.

And in celebration of of Indy Comic Book Week we are releasing a very special book for all you Shrunken Wool fans. More on that to come, but for now we'll just say it's gonna be huge.

Well everyone, we've had this in development for a while now, and we've been pretty quiet about it up until now. But it looks like issue 1 of Life (With Friends) will be launching this fall! News Outside The Fold

We here at Twofold always want to do our best to help support the other small press companies out there, especially when one of our own is involved with them. So we just wanted to take a minute to let everyone know about the upcoming release of Dimestore Production's Mysterious Visions #12. Dimestore has had a huge impact on small press publishing, especially through the Small Press Idol Contest which has just gotten bigger and bigger every year, their DimestoreDistro, and their Self Publisher's Magazine. They're definitely a company worth looking into for people who care about supporting the small press.

We should also note that Mysterious Visions #12 features a short story entitled Cursed by our editor, Adam Wilson. So its worth picking up for that reason alone. It is now available for Pre-order over at their site. Just click on the cover to pick up your copy.

Potentially Big News For Twofold Comics... And Comics in General

Twofold Comics has always been the bilateral comic book system. You can order our books in print or you can order them digitally. Two different folds, but one major element was always missing. Your local comic book shop. Even though our books are and have always been readily available online, Twofold Comics never had a presence in the direct market. And that's something we've always been looking to change.

For a while now we've been researching different direct market distributors, trying to find one that embodied the same vision and passion that we here at Twofold Comics possess. Much to our surprise though, as we searched far and wide, one should happen to appear right under our noses.

The people at Ka-Blam, have just announced they are going to start Beta testing a Print-on-Demand Direct Market Distribution Company called:

It's a pretty revolutionary idea, but given how successful Indy Planet has been, I've got no doubts that these are the guys who can pull this off. And tht being so, Twofold Comics is backing them 100% and we'll be distributing solely through them. But as they said on their site, they can't do it without help. So, if you'd like to see some of our titles like Shrunken Wool, or Manifest Destiny at your local comic book shop, talk to the owners, tell them how great Comics Monkey is and how much potential it has to be one of the best things to happen to the Comic Book Industry since the full bleed splashpage. We're all really optimistic about this, and you all should be too. This is going to mean great things for everybody.

Cover Artist Submission Guidelines

For those of you wishing to do cover work for an upcoming issue of Shrunken Wool, here's everything you need to know about submitting:

What we're looking for:

Each cover will feature a different artist's interpretation of the term Shrunken Wool. So whatever you think of when you hear the those words, that's what we're looking for. It can be as literal or as abstract an interpretation as you want. You can make it funny, or sexy, or weird, or whatever. And since it's your interpretation, you can't be wrong.

What to send us:

First things first, we'll need to see some of your previous work. It can be in the form of pinups, covers, character designs. We want to see what you're capable of as an artist. Preferably we'd like you to send links to an online portfolio of some kind, but if you don't have that we will accept low resolution jpegs (though we ask that you not send more than 5).
The next thing we'll need is a mock up of your cover idea. Since each cover is a different person's interpretation of "Shrunken Wool", we'll want to see how you plan to interpret it. This doesn't have to be a polished or detailed sketch, it's just something to show us what you have in mind for the cover.
You can send this all to our editor, Adam Wilson, at amwilson81@hotmail.com.
At the end of each month we'll pick our favorite submission and they'll be asked to do a final, full color, version of their cover to be featured on the issue.
Any covers designs that aren't chosen will be considered for future issues of Shrunken Wool. So even if we don't choose your drawing right off the bat, it's possible you'll still have a chance of seeing your artwork on the cover of Shrunken Wool.
Now, like the rest of Shrunken Wool, there is no upfront pay for cover artists. But you will receive a cut of all royalties.

Twofold Comics was started in July of 2007 as a bilateral comic book company, striving to synthisize web and print comics in a symbiotic relationship that capitalized on the strength of both mediums. In the months that followed Twofold released their first few books, and began developing even more.

In mid 2008, the company took some time off to reaccess it's business model. The time off proved very fruitful and now, as we approach the start of 2009, Twofold Comics is back with all new titles to kick off what proves to be a great year. So keep your eyes peeled cause Twofold Comics has returned!
